On their second year of organizing a summer basketball league for the SLS community, the San Lorenzo School Parent Teacher Association brought over a hundred players this year! What started last year under the leadership of former SLS-PTA president Jennyfer Arienza Desipeda with 4 teams has now grown into 10 teams on its 2nd year under the leadership of President Ferdinand Elegado and Sports League Chairman Herbert Miravalles.
This year’s summer basketball league opening day appeared to be a prequel to the much anticipated Grand Alumni Homecoming with the presence of alumni from HS Batch 2005, HS Batch 2007, HS Batch 2012, HS Batch 2013, HS Batch 2014, JHS Batch 2016, JHS Batch 2017, JHS Batch 2019, and SHS Batch 2021. With the participation of Coach Rollen “Nonoy” Cinco as a player for the SLS-PTA team, his presence reunited him with his former SLS Saints varsity players for over a decade.
The summer basketball games are currently ongoing and held in the SLS Covered Court every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The SHS Batch 2021 composed of agile youngbloods seems to be the toughest team to beat.
