Hear ye! Hear ye! Our Intermediate level student has struck gold!
On our second year of participating in the Highlights Library Philippines Listening Competition, our representative from the Intermediate Level, Francezka Magdalene Olivarez, mentored by Ms. Anna Melissa Partosa, earned the Gold Award in the Highlights Library Interschool Listening Competition held online via Zoom on March 8, 2025. The annual Listening Competition aims to encourage the students to become effective listeners. Listening efficiently helps develop the ability to comprehend using one’s sense of hearing. It also enhances the ability to communicate effectively, and it also makes the experience of conversations more enjoyable and meaningful.

This competition is organized and hosted by Highlights Library, an all-in-one digital reading platform which focuses on helping children discover and nurture the love for reading, and provide teachers and parents with tools to support their discovery and reading comprehension. The participants in the competition had to listen to audio books, answer questions for each book, compose a summary for the designated book in the final round and orally deliver the composition in less than 3 minutes. Participants were rated according to their comprehension, organization, pronunciation, grammar, voice quality, and pacing.
